Maritime Collectible Plates by Bing & Grondahl and Royal Copenhagen
Item Details
A set of four shipping and marine motif blue and white ceramic plates. The plates include one plate from Royal Copenhagen titled The Little Mermaid depicting a mermaid sitting on a rock watching a sailboat (date unknown); a 1906 Royal Copenhagen commissioned FDH (Association of Danish Commercial Travelers) 40th Anniversary plate depicting various modes of transportation; a 1976 Bing & Grondahl plate depicting the Danish training ship Copenhagen, which was built in 1921 and mysteriously disappeared in 1928; and a 1994 Royal Copenhagen plate depicting the sailing ship Jylland. All plates marked on the back sides.
Condition
- all could benefit from cleaning, minor staining around hanging holes

- measures plate labeled Skoleskibet which is the smallest of the four.
