Antique Chinese Export Armorial Porcelain Tureen Base

Item Details

An antique Chinese export armorial porcelain tureen base. This oval tureen base has a white ground with a gold tone Greek key detail at the rim with navy blue accents. The handles are attached to either side with a twisted gold tone and blue handle with a berry detail. An armorial coat of arms has an elephant facing dexter with an azure filled shield with stars, crescents and a griffin. It bearing is framed by an open foliate wreath. The verso is unglazed and is unmarked.

Condition

- does not have a lid; cracks, marks, scratches throughout; wear and discoloration to painted decoration; slightly soiled.
