An ornate Burmese style kalaga tapestry. The rectangular tapestry features twelve vignettes depicting people, a lobster or shrimp, a horse, a goat, fish and other motifs. The main motifs are on a dark blue background, with trapunto relief work and applied accents including embroidery, beads and spangles. The tapestry is bordered in dark blue woven fabric, and there are concealed pockets with wood dowels at the top and bottom edges. No maker’s marks.
