An ink painting on paper of a man with a cigarette by David Miretsky (Russian, b. 1939). Depicted is a somber, curly haired figure seated with one hand to the face and other clutching a scrunched cloth. Signed to the lower right, ‘M.’ Presented under glass, with a white and black matting, and housed in a black tone wood frame.
Miretsky was Born in Kiev, Russia in 1939. He attended the Kiev Art Institute from 1965-69 and immigrated to America in 1975. His work can be found in the Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum, Rutgers University; Cincinnati Art Museum, Cincinnati, OH; Ukrainian National Museum of Art, Kiev, Ukraine; and the Tucson Museum of Art, Tucson, AZ.
