An oil painting on canvas of an abstracted figure on a dirt path, titled The Optimist, by an artist named Dirk Hoyer. This work is rendered with bright colors and painterly marks, depicting an open-mouthed figure walking past a brick wall, trees and buildings visible on the other side. This work is presented in a wooden frame with a textile and gold tone liner and a wire for hanging, the title and artist’s name written in pencil to the verso.
