A watercolor painting on paper signed ‘M. Carpenter’. This piece depicts a market scene in which vendors sell their wares in a square from stalls and blankets laid out on the ground. It is signed to the lower right corner. The piece is presented behind a layered mat in a gold tone frame that is wired for hanging.

- chip to inner edge of frame at lower left; scratches and wear to frame, particularly along upper edge.
