A circa 1863 edition of The Historical War Map by Hudson Taylor, Washington, D.C. This small book features red cardboard covers with seventy two pages of text regarding civil war battles from 1860-1863, including a fold out map with key battle areas highlighted in red. The map is marked ‘The Historical War Map Asher & Co. Entered according to Act of Congress, in the year 1862, by Asher & Co.,in the Clerk’s Office of the District Court, for the state of Indiana.’ The inside cover has a personal inscription in ink reading ‘Sergt. Frank Boyts Jan 28th 1864.’
