A pair of offset lithographs of map illustrations by well listed American artist N.C. Wyeth (1882-1945). These two prints depict the eastern and western hemisphere. The maps are bordered with a variety of fantasy figures such as mermaids and mermen, cherubs, Greek gods, and historical figures. These pieces are printed with blue, yellow and green ink with black and gray detailing. The prints are signed and dated (1927) in plate to the lower right. These pieces are presented behind glass and in a red, black, and gold-tone painted wood frame. The verso of these prints are equipped to hang.
Condition
- creases are visible in each print where they were previously folded. The frames show signs of wear.
