Gorham "Invitation" Silver Plated Flatware Set

A set of silver plated flatware by Gorham. This is in the James Russell Price designed Invitation pattern, first introduced in 1940, which features a flared handle with rounded tip and scrolled border along the sides. This ninety-one piece set includes twelve salad forks, twelve butter spreaders, twelve dinner knives, three serving spoons, a meat fork, two cocktail forks, ten soup spoons, a ladle, a sugar spoon, a master butter knife, twelve dinner forks, and twenty-four teaspoons. The piece are marked to backs ‘Gorham Plate Pat. 1940’, and the knives are marked ‘stainless’ to the blades. The set is also presented with a casserole spoon by another maker.
