An early edition of Uncle Tom’s Cabin; or, Life Among the Lowly by Harriet Beecher Stowe. This edition of the novel was published in two volumes by John P. Jewett & Company of Boston in 1852. The books have been rebound, and are presented in red hardcover with raised bands and gilt lettering to the spine, including the words ‘First Edition’; however, typographical points in both volumes are not consistent with the first printing of the work.
