Edie Harper Signed Limited Edition Serigraph "Pow!"

An original signed limited edition serigraph on paper by well-listed Cincinnati artist Edie Harper (1922 – 2010), titled Pow!, or David and Goliath. The print depicts a figure wrapped in white holding a simple slingshot standing to the right of the image, presumably David, as a massive giant lies on the ground beside him. A row of onlookers line the top edge of the print. The piece is signed, titled, and numbered 180/750 in graphite to the lower edge. It is double-matted in beige and white and is presented behind glass in a composite frame with brushed silver tone finish and a hanging wire attached to the verso. Edie Harper described herself as a “Jill of all trades trying to master one” since she had been successful in many areas of art including photography, wood sculpture, weaving, and jewelry design, as well as painting and printmaking. Her husband, well-known artist and illustrator Charley Harper, called her “the thinking man’s Bible illustrator.” Edie’s work has been exhibited at the Cincinnati Art Museum, Andover Art Museum, and the Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati, as well as many others.
