An original etching with areas of aquatint and mezzotint and a la poupée coloring on paper Louis Claude (1869 – 1963) titled Polo. The print depicts two men on horseback engaged in a game of polo in a grassy field. The print is signed and titled in graphite to the lower margin. ‘Paris Etching Society, New York’ is printed in-plate to the upper left, and the number ‘51’ is printed to the lower left. In the lower left margin sits a circular “SZL” stamp; this mark stands for Sidney Z. Lucas, who was an art entrepreneur who founded the Paris Etching Society and commissioned large editions of prints such as this one. The print is not matted or framed, but is wrapped in acetate for safekeeping.

- light yellowing to paper. Residue along right margin.
