An original oil painting on masonite of a landscape by A.H. Beecher. This painting depicts a rugged landscape replete with white pine, rocky outcroppings, and a craggy terrain. The artist applied the paint in thick layers, leaving brush strokes and abundant texture that is reminiscent of Canada’s Group of Seven. This piece is signed and dated (1933) to the lower right in black. The painting is presented in a dark stained wood frame and is equipped to hang.
Condition
- the verso of this piece has some apparent water damage and some areas of dark spotting. There are some areas of craquelure throughout.
