A carved wood Chasing Star Kachina Doll. This piece presents a dancing figure painted yellow with black diamonds and red accents. Leather straps cross the doll’s chest, with fur framing the cylindrical head and diamond shaped face. A shield of carved feathers with white faux fur frames the figure, and it is presented on a disc of wood. It is signed illegibly in ink to the underside, with the identity of the Kachina.

Condition

- some scratches and wear to painted finish throughout; edge wear throughout; separation at one elbow joint; loss to fingers of one carved hand.
