Vintage Goldsmith Baseball with Press Photos

A collection of vintage 1943 black-and-white baseball press photos and a Goldsmith ‘Official 97 League’ baseball. The photos feature: Honus Wagner coaching some Pirates players on hitting; Joe Cronin with some of his Boston Red Sox players, showing them how to bunt; a shot of some Pirates players running at their spring training facility in Muncie, Indiana; (2) photos of Pirates players practicing at the Indiana field, McCulloch Field, during spring training; (2) photos of Cincinnati Reds players chatting. The Reds photos do not come with captions. The baseball has a notation written on the side panels about ‘bowling night 10-23-42’; there are other writings.

- to fair: baseball is toned, soiled and written on
- photos have curled edges
