Pettibone Bros. Ceremonial Masonic Sword
Item Details
A ceremonial Masonic sword manufactured by Pettibone Bros. Mfg. Co. in Cincinnati, Ohio. This sword was manufactured circa 1890s – 1920s. The sword comes with a sheath. When the sheath is removed the blade of the sword depicts scenes from the crusades. The scenes are surrounded by the name, “J. W. Latimer.” Near the leather guard, on one side of the blade is the manufacturer’s name, “Pettibone Bros Mfg Co. Cinti, O” and to the other side is a cross and crown symbol which represents the Knights Templar Order. The ivory toned handle features a cross and an intricate design to opposite side. There is a bust of a knight to the end of the handle.
