An original signed ink drawing on thick compressed paper watercolor board by very well-listed American illustrator Sam Norkin (New York, 1917 – 2011), best-known for his theater sketches. This piece is titled Allegro, and depicts a stage filled with dancing figures in the lively musical. The figures are beautifully-illustrated and thoughtfully-placed as they promenade across the scene. The piece is signed to the lower left. It is titled, noted ‘Drama,’ and noted ‘7 3/4’’ in graphite to the lower margin. The work is presented without matting or framing, awaiting your choice of presentation. Norkin had thousands of illustrations published in the New York Daily News, New York Herald Tribune, Boston Globe, Washington Post, and countless other publications.
