An oil painting on canvas of a cherry blossom tree by artist B. Clapp. This Expressionist painting depicts a lone cherry blossom situated on a flat, grassy plane, expanding throughout the composition with lush, budded branches. The composition is composed of controlled, daubed pigment in horizontal rows, reminiscent of a Pointillist technique. To the lower right corner is an artist signature with a numerical inscription appearing to be the date, which reads ‘1-3/83’. The painting is presented in a gold tone wooden frame with hanging wire to the verso.
Condition
- frame has very slight surface wear; paper residue clung to frame verso; canvas curling at edges of verso; smells of mildew.
