An offset lithograph of Washington D. C. after artist J. Checchi. This print on paper, which is after what appears to be a colored pencil drawing, depicts the titular capital from a slight aerial view. It overlooks Pennsylvania Avenue, with a bustling intersection of vehicles and people to the center. To the distance is the Capitol Building, which is surrounded by inscriptions noting areas like Maryland, Virginia, Texas and New York, overlooking the Pacific Ocean and international land masses. To the lower right corner of the composition is an in-plate artist signature. The print is presented under glass in a metal frame with hanging wire to the verso.
Condition
- to fair; minor blemishes to frame; glass could benefit from cleaning; staining toward edges; bug residue between glass and print.
