An original oil painting on canvas by listed American equestrian artist Anthony Veccio (born 1949). This painting depicts a fierce horserace, with five steeds seen rounding a corner, leaning intensely into the curve. Created with gestural strokes of a palette knife, this expressive work was painted in cool blues and purples in the background and more saturated tones across the horse and jockeys’ bodies. The painting is signed in brown to the lower right. It is presented in a wooden frame with a hanging wire attached to the verso.
