Bill Worrell Sculpture "Shaman and the Golden Ring of Forever"
Item Details
A bronze sculpture of a Native American shaman by Texas artist, sculptor, and writer Bill Worrell. This piece, constructed from a variety of metals and titled Shaman with the Golden Ring of Forever, features a figure with a deer skull mask, a deer skin scarf, outstretched arms with sword and staff, and a long torso. Each carries its own symbolic meaning: the deer skull mask and skin scarf represent the shaman’s connection to nature; the magic staff represents the “staff of life”; and the golden ring represents the unending cycle of life and death. The backside of the piece is stamped “I 14” and it is signed ‘Worrell’ on one of the legs. The design is based on pictographs found in caves along the Texas and Mexico border.
