Pair of Curio Cabinets by the Jasper Cabinet Company
Item Details
A pair of curio cabinets by the Jasper Cabinet Company. Each features a molded cornice over a central glazed door and rounded glass sidelights. The doors open via gold-toned ring pulls to allow access to four interior glass shelves, and the cabinets rest on solid plinth bases.
The Schaaf and Schnaus steam-powered sawmill opened in Jasper, Indiana, in 1904, expanding to manufacture furniture before changing its name to the Jasper Cabinet Company in 1928. Despite suffering setbacks during World War Two and a strike-caused shutdown in the 2000s, Jasper is still in business due to consistent innovation and perseverance.
