An offset lithograph on paper after a portrait titled Anne of Cleves by Hans Holbein. This offset lithograph depicts a 16th century portrait of Anne of Cleves, the fourth wife of King Henry VIII. She is featured in a lavish red and gold gown with her hands demurely folded in front of her. This offset lithograph is unsigned. Printed in plate in the bottom margins, ’ ‘Anne of Cleves’ by Hans Holbein, Louvre, Paris, c. 1937 National Committee for Art Appreciation.’ This work is presented under glass in a gold painted wood frame with acanthus leaf moulding.
Condition
- frame is chipped, scratched, and coming apart art the corners; glass could benefit from being cleaned; image has shifted in the frame.
