Chinese Coromandel Lacquer Hand Carved Folding Screen

A large Chinese hand carved and hand painted coromandel lacquer folding screen. Known as kuan cai, literally “incised colors” in Chinese, coromandel lacquer features a black lacquer field with designs incised and painted a multitude of vibrant shades. The Chinese three-panel screen features a black lacquered finish and is decorated with a bird and floral motif. The screen is finished with brass capped feet.
