An oil painting on canvas of an abstract composition by listed American artist Eugene F. ‘Gino’ Hollander (1924-2015), created in 1972. This painting depicts a textural layering of cream,mustard yellow, and blue pigment applied in a gestural manner. The composition smudges to the edges, blending into the earthen toned background. To the lower left corner of the composition is an artist signature and date. The painting is presented in a dark wooden frame with a wire loop to the verso for hanging.
Eugene F. ‘Gino’ Hollander was a celebrated painter, Hollywood filmmaker, and World War II veteran. His work is held in many private and public collections throughout the world, including Museo Hollander, City College New York, the Herbert F. Johnson Museum at Cornell University, and is in the collections of the famous and influential, including Jacqueline Kennedy, Burt Lancaster, Ralph Lauren, Taki Fukishima and many others.
