An acrylic painting on canvas of a canal, by listed artist M. Edward Griff (circa 20th century). This atmospheric work depicts a town as seen from alongside a glassy canal, rendered in a palette of grays and earth tones, with detailing given in hatching black lines. This piece is signed ‘Griff’ to its lower right corner and is presented in a beveled brown frame with a white liner and a hanging wire to the verso.

- fair; canvas is frayed to the lower right; paint loss throughout work; light wear throughout frame finish; canvas is bubbled to the lower left.
