Chippendale Style Orange Secretary Bookcase

Item Details

A Chippendale style orange secretary bookcase. The upper cabinet features two doors opening to fourteen drawers, thirteen cubbies, and a painted drum and bugle motif to the door interiors. Below the cabinet is a slant front opening to eight cubbies and two drawers. The lower base features four stacked, machine-dovetailed drawers with batwing plates and bail handles. The whole piece rises on ogee bracket feet. There are no visible maker’s marks.

Condition

- key included doesn’t seem to work for the upper doors but unlocks lower slant front; all four feet appear to have water damage; one drawer to the interior of the upper cabinet sticks; minor scratches present throughout.
