This edition was released on August 15th 1945 which was the day the Empire of Japan surrendered to the Allied forces and an end to open hostilities in the Second World War. The newspaper also discusses the sinking of the USS Indianapolis (CA-35) which was the largest lost of Naval life in U.S history.
