A 1977 oil painting on canvas by artist Willie F. Cunningham. The piece depicts a Japanese mountain landscape in autumn, utilizing a vibrant palette of blue, red, orange, yellow and green. The work is signed in green paint to the lower right with East Asian lettering inside a cartouche. It also includes an inscription to the canvas verso, written by an unknown hand, of ‘Willie Cunningham, April 1977, Iwakuni, Japan’. The painting is presented without glass in a wooden frame with a black fabric liner to the front and hanging wire to the verso.
