1949 Admiral Radio Phonograph Console

A 1949 Admiral Radio Phonograph console. This console radio and phonograph is marked as model ‘7G1’ and is stamped on its inner mechanisms ‘78B87 270808’. The console is comprised of wood and includes two circular door pulls its top. One opens downward to reveal a slide out turntable, and the second is a hinged door which reveals a radio dial and console controls. The lower portion of the console features a beige fabric grill with a wood frame, and a storage compartment. The back includes an advertisement for ‘Magic Mirror Television In Matching Console’ and instructions for the tilt-out mechanism. The stereo system was produced in 1949 by Admiral and rests on four square feet.
