19th-Century Reverse Painted Glass Nativity Scene
Item Details
A late 19th-century Continental reverse painting on glass of the Nativity scene. Christ appears in the lower center, wrapped in swaddling clothes with Joseph to the left and Mary to the right, all with gold lace halos. Presented in a black lacquered wood frame with a gilt sight edge. Illegible inscription present to the verso.
EBTH certifies this item is from the private collection of personal property formerly owned by Dr. Robert H. Schuller.

- paper backing on painting is fragile and shows age; frame is scratched and marked throughout; edges of glass are rough.
