Majel Warfield Mid-Century Watercolor and Gouache Painting "Langee Temple Dancer"

A mid-century watercolor and gouache illustration on paper by listed American artist Majel Warfield (born 1905). The piece, titled Langee Temple Dancer, depicts a woman in colorful Southeast Asian ceremonial attire. She is shown dancing in side profile with knees bent, her left arm extended and right arm holding a fan. The work is signed in graphite to the lower right, with the artist’s name and work title printed on a label to the frame’s backing paper. The painting is matted in mottled grey and presented under TruGuard conservation glass in a gold tone wooden frame with hanging wire to the verso. Condition
- several nicks and scratches to front edges of frame; 3" chip to right edge of frame verso; wear to gold tone finish of frame; some toning to paper.
