An oil painting on canvas titled Bay Series by Al Barnes (American, b. 1937). This work depicts a nautical scene with multiple racing sailboats navigating through a tranquil ocean reflected by a luminous sun. The work is signed by the artist to the lower right corner. There is an informational label from ‘Meredith Long & Company’ affixed to the verso. Presented without glass, housed in a silver-tone frame with a gray velvet liner.

Barnes was born in Cuero, Texas in 1937 and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1967 from the University of Texas at Austin. In the seventies he traveled throughout the Caribbean where he saw vast stretches of turquoise water and native boats.
