An oil painting on canvas board of a winter landscape by listed Italian artist Riccardo Tosti (1910-1986). Portrayed with loose quick brushstrokes, this impressionistic work features a snow-covered landscape populated with defoliated trees, orange shacks in the middle-ground, and green hills in the distant background. The painting is signed to the lower left. It is presented in a gold-tone wood frame with an abstract relief design, a black velvet liner, and gold-tone sight edge. A label from Todd Gallery is adhered to the verso.
Condition
-small stain to upper center area of painting; minor wear to frame and liner including gilt loss, scratches, and stains throughout.
