Item Details
An original 1948 watercolor on paper by well-listed painter and writer, Paavo Airola (Arizona / Canada / Finland; 1918 – 1983), titled Hårtvätt, or Hair-Washing. The image depicts a partially nude bather hunched over a basin of water, washing her or his hair. Artist signature is signed to the lower left. This work is mounted under pale, muted lavender mat, behind glass in a beveled wood frame with a painted lavender and taupe finish, equipped to hang. A sheet attached to the verso lists, in Swedish, the works included in a 1948 exhibition of the artist.
Condition
- light age discoloration across painting and matting. Frame is worn.
