Robert Burkert Signed Limited Edition Serigraph on Paper "Heat Lightning (June)"

Item Details

A signed limited edition serigraph on paper titled Heat Lightning (June) by well-listed American artist Robert Randall Burkert (b. 1930). This work features a landscape filled with agricultural patches extending into the distance. Abstracted gray clouds hover in the dark sky above and lightning cracks bridge between the land and the sky. The work is signed by hand in graphite to the lower right; it is titled to the lower left and numbered 34 out of an edition of 50 to the lower center. Presented under acrylic glass with off-white matting, housed in a black wood frame. A short bio of the artist is adhered to the verso.

Born in Wisconsin, Robert Burkert studied under the tutelage of John Wilde, Alfred Sessler, Dean Meeker, Santos Zingale, and James Watrous. As a painter and graphic artist he is mostly known for his abstracted landscapes. His work has been displayed by numerous renowned art institutions including the Museum of Modern Art, the Tate Collection, and the Milwaukee Art Museum, among others.
