A vintage Persian Malayer Sarouk rug. This vintage handwoven wool pile carpet features a vivid crimson colored field decorated with a pointed scalloped central medallion and an ornate pattern of lancet leaves, flower garlands , and palmettes in shades of olive green, pale blue ,black, peach and white. The corner spandrels are a deep navy color patterned with red, pale peach, blue and olive green florals. The thin main border features a blue and red carnation meander against an olive field. It is marked to the reverse ‘Made in Iran’ and has natural warp fringe to either end.

-light wear from age and use.
