An original 1953 Satchel Paige Topps #220 baseball card. This card depicts a
close-up color image of one of the greatest Negro League pitchers of all-time. The card was Topps’s first production and is considered a rookie card, presenting him in his St. Louis Browns attire. On the card, Satchel is misspelled ‘Satchell’ on the front and back. Leroy Satchel Paige is considered one of the greatest pitchers in American history. Wherever, he pitched, the crowds were record-setting. At the age of forty-seven, Satchel pitched in the 1953 All-Star Game in Cincinnati. He was elected to the National Baseball Hall Of Fame in 1971 and passed away in 1962. The card is housed in a protective plastic case.
Condition
Good Condition with edge and surface wear. Soft corners and the card is off-centered. The card was not removed from its protective case; card has not been measured.
