A circa 1930s The Gendron Wheel Co. wheelchair. This wheelchair is comprised of wood, rattan and metal. The wheelchair includes an adjustable footrest, a lever mechanism for allowing the backrest to recline, two large wheels at its side, and a smaller wheel to the back. The plate at the back of the wheelchair reads ‘The Gendron Wheel Co. Factory Toledo, Ohio Made in U.S.A.’ which dates the item to the mid to late 1930s.
