LeRoy Neiman Serigraphs "Hall of Famer" and "Olympic Basketball"

A pair of serigraphs titled Hall of Famer and Olympic Basketball by American artist LeRoy Neiman (1921-2012). Both serigraphs have a brightly colored, painterly look to them, using blocks and areas of color create loose forms that convey movement. Hall of Famer depicts a baseball player on the follow-through of his swing, the catcher on one knee behind him. It is signed both in plate and by hand to the lower right corner. Olympic Basketball depicts the 1976 men’s Olympic basketball team as one player goes in for a dunk and the others stand guard. Country flags line the stands overhead. Affixed to the verso is a stat card for the Olympic basketball that year. It is signed to the lower right corner and is number 1 in an edition of 300. Both prints are presented in metal frames with wire for hanging.
Condition
- in “Olympic Basketball” glass was broken prior to arrival and had to be removed; scratch in the glass of “Hall of Famer” in the upper left corner; light wear to both versos.
