A set of Russian Matryoshka dolls. This set of Russian wooden nesting dolls features ten hand painted dolls with gilt accents to the head and a scene of a church on the front. The largest doll is marked to its underside ‘The Trinity – St. Sergiev Lavra Sergiev Posad 1996 Stupin G.V. 10p.’ referring to the The Trinity Monastery of St. Sergii of Sergiev Posad in Russia, the origin of Matryoshka dolls.
