John A. Ruthven Limited Edition Hand-Colored Engraving "Bald Eagle"

A limited edition, signed hand-colored engraving after a watercolor by beloved wildlife artist John A. Ruthven (born 1924) titled American Bald Eagle, released to commemorate America’s Bicentennial. This print depicts a strong bald eagle in flight, eyes fixated on prey while his talons are clenched tightly to be more aerodynamic as he hunts. The print is signed in pencil by the artist to lower right, and is also numbered 140/776 in pencil to lower left. Printed text to the bottom of the piece reads, “Original Watercolor by John A Ruthven”, title is printed in center, and to the right reads, “Engraved by Norma Morgan: Printed by Andersen-Lamb (Hand Coloured). New York; Published by Wildlife Internationale, Georgetown, Ohio, U.S.A., Copyright 1976.” A certificate of registration is included on the back. The work is displayed under glass in an off white mat and beveled dark wood frame. Wired to the back for wall attachment.
