A Native American-inspired carved marble bear fetish figure, similar in style to those made by the Zuni Pueblo people. The piece depicts a stylized rounded standing bear in side profile, rendered in dark porphyritic basalt accented with lighter-toned flecks throughout. The figure includes a carved cream jasper projectile point wrapped to the top of its back with wound sinew. The piece rests on an elliptical marble base signed ‘H’ with incised markings to the underside.
