Chinese Huishan-Style Relief Figures
Item Details
A framed pair of Chinese relief figures inspired by Huishan clay figurines. These pink-cheeked rounded girl and boy figures, called Xi (‘Happiness’) and Fu (‘Blessing’), are decorated in gouache and are each depicted holding an animal. There are a red artist stamps to the top right and bottom left corners on this piece, and the figures are presented behind glass and a white and gold tone liner in a brown shadowbox-style frame with a stand to the verso.

- backing is taped on; debris beneath glass; wear to frame.
