An oil painting on canvas of a cowboy and horse, titled Day’s End, by listed artist Thompson Hughes (born 1942). This work, captured in painterly strokes of blacks and blues, depicts a cattleman leading his horse across a grassy expanse, both backlit by a large, low moon. This piece is signed to the center of its lower edge, and is presented in a silver tone frame with a wire and artist biography to the verso.
