Hand-Knotted Tibetan "Tiger" Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Tiger rug. This wool rug likely was woven in Nepal by Tibetan exiles. It presents a classic Tibetan weave and design depicting a taxidermied tiger pelt over a dusty-apricot colored field. Framing the field is a Chinese fret-key border in taupe over apricot. The palette is pale terracotta, dusty apricot, taupe, and toffee. Selvedges are overcast, while the top and bottom are serged, with a strip of protective backing. It is unlabeled.
