A 1980s limited edition offset lithograph on paper after a gouache painting by listed Native American genre artist Virginia A. Stroud (born 1951). The piece, titled Before Battle, depicts a gathering of colorfully illustrated figures meeting on horseback, set against a horizontal field of white. The print is signed in graphite to the lower left and numbered as 72 out of an edition of 850. It is additionally signed and dated in plate to the lower right. The piece is matted in dark coral and presented under glass in a wooden frame with hanging wire to the verso.
