Northwest Coast Style Carved Mask

Item Details

A hand carved hardwood mask in the style of the Northwest Coast Native American tribes. The abstracted face displays exaggerated features, with concentric rings at the cheeks and temples, a wide tounge extending from the gaping mouth, inlaid mother of pearl ornamented deep-set eyes, and geometric bands of alternating stains. It is initialed on verso ‘HG’, and has a scrolling metal stand as well as a hole for mounting.
