An oil painting on canvas by listed artist James E. Mitchell of the Tillamook Rock Lightstation. This painting depicts the aforementioned lighthouse sitting atop a lone, rocky formation, which is bombarded with crashing waves as a two-masted ship approaches. To the lower right corner of the composition is an artist signature. The painting is presented in a gold tone wooden frame with affixed hanging wire and a handwritten artist signature and location of the subject to the verso.

- minor wear is present on frame; stains along the top portion; punctures to paper backing.
