A vintage oil painting on canvas by Austrian artist Hubert Valerio (1908-1990). The painting depicts a Venetian canal with storm clouds overhead. Shades of gray, burnt umber and gold make up the color palette. The piece is presented in an ornate gesso and wood frame with painted gilt finish, and dates to the 1920s. There is a wire affixed to the verso for hanging.
